I received the retisert implants 2 yrs ago. I have had the side effects of cataracts, glaucoma. Cataracts removed, drops for the glaucoma and a tube in one eye. I experienced little discomfort, during the surgery and was back to normal in a week or so. Although you do have limitation for awhile.
Results, both eyes are at the same level when diagnosed 6 yrs. ago. 20/50 to 20/70. The one huge difference I noticed right away the fan blade affect decreased significantly which was worth its weight in gold to me.
I previously had 3 years of cellcept, 1yr of cellcept &cyclo. Intermittent prednisone high dose and tapering. I now have severe osteoporosis, the prednisone a big contributor.
